چکیده

Public transport systems are vital services in urban environments. The design of these complex socio-technical is continuously evolving to accommodate larger populations, and their adaptation essential supporting the successful sustainable development cities regions. An part this includes working increase passenger safety minimise risk injury. With focus, key objectives current study were identify causes slip, trip fall (STF) incidents attributable rail user train station characteristics. investigation historical STF records 1247 two Australian jurisdictions was conducted. Various contributing factors events identified, including locations such as stairs, ramps, escalators, train's entry exit step, doorway areas, running or rushing. A mixed-method field then conducted at three stations on trains. To further investigate factors, participants (N = 40) wore an eye tracker they navigated research illustrates that continuous search for information, a disconnect between information needed provided, might be cause distraction risky behaviour. Therefore, we suggest improvements reduce high visual workload passengers also incidence STFs.

Evaluation and simplification of the occupational slip, trip and fall risk-assessment test

OBJECTIVE The purpose of this investigation is to evaluate the efficacy of the occupational slip, trip and fall (STF) risk assessment test developed by the Japan Industrial Safety and Health Association (JISHA). We further intended to simplify the test to improve efficiency. METHODS A previous cohort study was performed using 540 employees aged ≥50 years who took the JISHA's STF risk assessme...

Firefighting to Innovation: Using Human Factors and Ergonomics to Tackle Slip, Trip, and Fall Risks in Hospitals

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to use a theoretical model (bench) for human factors and ergonomics (HFE) and a comparison with occupational slips, trips, and falls (STFs) risk management to discuss patient STF interventions (bedside). BACKGROUND Risk factors for patient STFs have been identified and reported since the 1950s and are mostly unchanged in the 2010s. The prevailing clinical v...

Trip Packing in Petrol Stations Replenishment

This paper considers a generalized version of the trip packing problem that we encountered as a sub-problem of the petrol stations replenishment problem. In this version we have to assign a number of trips to a fleet composed of a limited number of non-identical tank-trucks. Each trip has a specific duration, working time of vehicles is limited and the net revenue of each trip depends on the tr...

Occupational slip, trip, and fall-related injuries--can the contribution of slipperiness be isolated?

To determine if the contribution of slipperiness to occupational slip, trip and fall (STF)-related injuries could be isolated from injury surveillance systems in the USA, the UK and Sweden, six governmental systems and one industrial system were consulted. The systems varied in their capture approaches and the degree of documentation of exposure to slipping. The burden of STF-related occupation...
